New XX1 - Sram New Mountain Bike Groupo

A couple of years ago Sram designed the XX, 2x10 system, showing mountain bikers that one does not need 3 chainrings paired with a 9 speed cassette. Now we knew the 3x9 was using a lot by racers as a 1x9 but in certain places it got to be tough with the climbs. The 2x10  system with its 10 speed showed that given a wide cassette such as the 11-36 one could stay mostly in the big chainring and there was enough gear.  This led to some of the XC World Cup racers to remove the 26 or 28 tooth chain ring. However, a 38t chainring with a 11t  does not give you a lot of top end speed. So the xx1 with a 10 tooth sprocket kind of addresses that.
