The Rock Garden King rides a 26er
Nino Schurter is the Rock Garden King. Seeing him ride the rock garden truly shows his skills level. He is able to float over all the rocks so effortlessly. You would think Niño rides a 29er but he doesn't, he rides a 650b. Even more his specific set up makes his wheel size closer to a 26er than a 29er. It is about .25 of an inch difference. So next time someone tells you a 29er flows better over rocks than 26er, remind them the Rock Garden King actually rides a bike with small wheels.

ReplyDeleteIt is such a minute difference that I don't think is noticeable. I will update the blog with a picture of his 27.5" wheel and my 26" wheel side by side. He also had a lower profile tire, which made both wheels look almost identical. Thanks for the suggestion.
